A single ticket costs 320 HUF/€1.2 at Budapest’s public transportation company.
You have to validate the ticket before you get on the metro. There are section tickets that allows you to change the line, but they are only valid for 3 stops.

How to get to Astoria City Hostel from:
Keleti trainstation: Take M2 (red line) metro from the train station to ASTORIA stop. Take the Rákóczi út exit from the underpass find Rákóczi út no. 4 and ring doorbell no. 27.
Nyugati trainstation: Take M3 (blue line) metro from the train station to Deák Ferenc tér. From there you have two choices. The first is to get to the surface and walk to Astoria sq., the second is to change to the M2 (red line) metro and take it to the next stop to Astoria.
Déli trainstation: Take M2 (red line) metro to Astoria stop. Take the Rákóczi út exit from the underpass find Rákóczi út no. 4 and ring doorbell no. 27.
Népliget international bus station: Take M3 (blue line) metro from the bus station to Deák Ferenc tér. From there you have two choices. The first is to get to the surface and walk to Astoria sq., the second is to change to the M2 (red line) metro and take it to the next stop to Astoria.
Ferihegy Airport: You can take the Airport Minibus, that is cheaper than a taxi. If you want to go by public transportation you need to buy 3 tickets. Take the airport bus to the last stop (Köbánya-Kispest stop), there take M3 (blue line) metro from the bus station to Deák Ferenc tér stop. From there you have two choices. The first is to get to the surface and walk to Astoria square, the second is to change to the M2 (red line) metro and take it to the next stop to Astoria.
