Merry Christmas in Budapest!

Christmas in Budapest is fun, but only before the real Christmas holiday. When the holiest evening arrives, people go home and they mostly stay in or visit relatives for 3 days.
If you stay with us this holiday season, do not forget, that there are no shops, restaurants or anything open from December 24 afternoon until the 27th. The are only a few exeptions.

Judafest-Jewish cultural and gastronomic festival

Judafest again from 10am to 8 pm between November 27 and December 1.
The event will take place in 7th district’s Kazinczy street. This area recently became one of the top gathering spots in Budapest. Many restaurants, patisseries, pubs and ruin bars await us for a visit. We’ll have the chance to taste jewish food and to listen to the finest of klezmer music, also we will be introduced to theater art and fine arts.

Budwapest missed a flea market like this! It is open on every Saturday from 11am to 5pm at “Arany János utca” metrostop.
They are awaiting everyone for a visit and a nice bargain purchase.

Pálinka and sausage festival this weekend.

If you are in Budapest this weekend, why not check out the annual Palinka and Sausage festival arranged in the Castle area, near the Castle Hill Funicular between 6-9 October. Here you can taste the best Hungarian sausages, and of course taste a whole lot of Hungarian Palinka, the Hungarian fruit brandy. The most popular Palinka is probably the apricot version, but you can also find Palinka made of for example plum, peach, apple, pear, strawberry and other fruits!

and your own shot glass+snacks. The place is Városháza park, right at the Mayor’s office close to Deák tér.

Bring your own or your dad’s, ucle’s, grandfather’s, neighbour’s Pálinka and let the other’s taste it.
This picnic is not about wristbands and entrance fee or grilled food or security guards!
